if you’ve ever considered running, driving, or any other hands-free activity while listening to the inner workings and musings of a fifteen-year-old assassin, consider this your lucky day.
so very excited to announce that listening library is going to publish an audio edition of DUALED! it’ll be released simultaneously with the print edition in february 2013. listening library is random house’s youth audio publisher, and their catalogue is pretty freaking stellar. harry potter. the percy jackson series. twilight. inheritance.
yeah, little books like that.
eeps.
and, also, WOW.
Congrats!! Will there also be a Braille version?
I’m not sure, but if I hear of anything, I’ll let you know!
Woo-hoo, Elsie! That is AWESOME! Congratulations!!
Hey Emma! Thanks so much, it’s pretty cool
One day I’ll be listening to Dualed. This be brilliant.
For you, April, I’ll record a custom edition. I’ll include howling coyotes in the background.
Oh. My. God. I’d frakkin love that.
I know you would. I can do a mean howl. I don’t know why, but I can.
Very cool. I try to get the kids to listen to audiobooks as much as possible, to save their eyesight! Do you know who will be doing the reading?
Hi, Adrienne, thanks! You are such a good parent (um, Gillian’s eyesight is already shot!). I don’t know who’ll be reading yet–I can’t wait to find out!
I have a suggestion…
Wendy, I think your voice might be more suited for other works…of a different nature…that might need such a lovely, sultry, voice…
Hahaha! Well, your birthday is coming up
You’re supposed to give me a *gift*.
Who is this Wendy of the sultry voice? Elsie–maybe she could read our Flowers in the Attic Sci Fi mash up? Man, that book’s going to be huge. HUGE, I say.
Done! Bring it on!
That mash up is still on, April. But Wendy (my little sis) has dubious reading taste. It would just be too literary for her. Maybe she could do the audio??
True. Flowers in the Attic is pretty high brow. All those allusions to Dante’s Inferno and Paradise Lost and The Odyssey. The themes of class warfare and gender liberation and incest pro-activism. It can be too intense for some people. Let’s keep this in mind when writing FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC IN SPACE (working title).
Absolutely we have to keep those heavy themes in mind! Nothing will be overlooked for this award-worthy book we’ve got up our sleeves. I think there was some talk about pods and silver space/ballerina outfits, too? *makes notes*
Congrats again! (But seriously: Do you have some sort of good news tree?! I want to pick some of that fruit! Haha:-))
Hi Irene!!! Thanks so much! My good news tree grows in fits and spurts. Right now it’s looking awesome. Some days (weeks, months), not so much. Or, at least it feels that way, sometimes. Still, I’m hucking some fruit your way–I hope it does something worthwhile on your end!!
