if you find me cover reveal and link round up

i’m so happy to be able to share the cover for if you find me by emily murdoch! it’s a very intense read, with the perfect intense cover to match it. em’s not only a fellow lucky 13ner, but i originally met her on the absolute write forums when i first started writing. so it’s particularly gratifying to see all her hard work pay off! congrats, em! if you find me comes out april 2013!

some links! i participated in a post over on the amazing ya highway blog, where the lovely kristin halbrook talks about the first sale: expectation vs reality. look for part 2 on the site on tuesday!

as a friday the thirteener, i’m taking part in crits for water, where you can bid on query crits from us in exchange for a donation to a good cause. click here! bidding open until june 29, 6pm est!

well, as you know, the ala (american library association) annual conference took place this past weekend (and i’m sad to say DUALED arcs never made it there, but are absolutely guaranteed to be at ala in seattle in january 2013, so sorry to those bloggers who were on the lookout for it!). a huge issue came up with the distribution of arcs–namely, a couple of greedy bloggers took more than they should have (including duplicates) and then had the stupidity to vlog and brag about their haul. read some truly enlightening articles of the issue at stacked: the arc stops here and reading, writing breathing: bloggers vs librarians?

    Hi Elise,

I find it extremely repulsive when those few fellow bloggers get greedy with the ARC’s and end up taking more than they should. ARC’s are used as promotional tools by author’s and publisher’s to get the word out there about the upcoming book and they should definitely be respected and not “looted” as it sounds they were here. And then to turn around and brag about it, that makes it even worse. I am sincerely apologetic to you and other bloggers for this happening. I wish you nothing but the best and I’m excited and looking forward to your book. If I’m lucky enough to receive an ARC for review then I’ll definitely read and review it honestly, if not then I’ll be the first one in the door at my bookstore the very day that it’s put on the shelf and the proud owner of a finished copy of what I know is going to be an amazing book! :)

    • Hi Susan! Yeah, it’s a hard situation. But hopefully a couple of overeager bloggers won’t spoil it for everyone. All I know is as an author, I love bloggers being a part of everything! I do hope you receive an ARC for review, and I can’t wait for you to read it! Thanks so very much for your support and enthusiasm :)

  2. Wow! Cool cover! That book sounds great! :) And yay for ARCs at ALA midwinter! :)

  3. Seattle. Four-Posts and Four-Eyes. It will be the best of times, and the worst of times.

    • APRIL, I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL JANUARY!!!! Do you care if about getting a hotel with a pool??

      • Nope, don’t care a bit. But maybe we should try renting a house/apartment on Airbnb? Then we can make our own food cuz we’ll have a kitchen and maybe a backyard and a hot tub. That’s usually the way I roll. It’s also easier to hide the corpses, with a house. The many, many corpses.

      • Hah! Leave the corpses behind this time, April! But I don’t drive so I’m traveling with the family. But they know it’s for work (that word still makes me laugh) and Gameworks is calling them. So I’m all yours and Ellen’s for the most part. And I foresee some late night writing sessions for FITAIS. Imbibed with drinks that will have a % label on them, I think.

      • FITAIS! Let’s drink a lot of coffee. I’ve done way stranger things jacked on joe than I ever have on alcohol.

      • Oh good, I didn’t want to get too red in front of you guys, anyway!! Coffee highs, YES.

  4. Just a big hug, Elsie. The best part of the journey so far are the hearts of gold writers I meet along the way, and you’re definitely one of them.

What a long, strange trip its been. Raising my spezna to you. : )

    • Aw, hi Em! Same goes for me; you know we go way back to AW days! All of this IS the most amazing thing, isn’t it? We are very, very fortunate. Em, I can’t wait to read IF YOU FIND ME!

  5. Good post. I learn something totally new and challenging on
blogs I stumbleupon every day. It’s always useful to read content from other authors and use something from their web sites.
