so can i have a DUALED floor display for myself, please?

because it’s me and i’m lazy with fine print, i had no clue DUALED was going to be sold in australia as part of the deal for north america. so that was incredibly exciting to find out! but i think the best way was how i found out.

i came across this listing for a 9 copy floor display at angus & robertson, an australian bookstore! come february i don’t know if it can actually be ordered as it says, or even actually made, but if so i’ll most definitely try. because how fun would this be to have in the house? i’d rotate the book selection on a regular basis!

a brief link round up this week! DUALED was mentioned in Publisher’s Weekly Spring 2013 Sneak Previews, which was amazing! i was floored to be included with such talented authors. also, an interview i did was translated into romanian at i’m wide awake and fantasy books. english is here! thanks so much sabrina, laura, and ramona!

i only have a few days left until my first set of edits come in for DIVIDED, but since turning in the first draft to my editor, i’ve been madly working through my to-be-read pile (it’s still huge). i’m pretty careful with the books i choose just because of how little time i seem to have left for reading nowadays. this is what i’ve read recently and enjoyed:

ellen oh PROPHECY
april tucholke BETWEEN THE DEVIL AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA
shannon messenger LET THE SKY FALL
daniel marks VELVETEEN
kendare blake ANNA DRESSED IN BLOOD
ransom riggs MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN
patrick ness THE KNIFE OF NEVER LETTING GO
patrick ness THE ASK AND THE ANSWER
patrick ness MONSTERS OF MEN
joshua c. cohen LEVERAGE
moira young BLOOD RED ROAD
laini taylor DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE
lauren destefano WITHER
emma donoghue ROOM
patrick ness A MONSTER CALLS
rj palacio WONDER
huntley fitzpatrick MY LIFE NEXT DOOR
jandy nelson THE SKY IS EVERYWHERE

That floor display is so great! I always love seeing them in Barnes & Noble when I go in. They’re definitely eye-catchers! Congrats on the Australian release too! Excellent list of recent reads too. I must check out some of the ones I haven’t read yet. 🙂

    • Hi Jenny!! I know, I was very shocked to see the mock up. I’ve always loved them, but never, ever would have imagined one for my book. I mean, things might change, who knows if they’ll make it, but yeah, so cool! Thanks so much, really happy to find out about AUS, too! Jenny, I can recommend almost all the ones I’ve just read.

  2. That floor display rules.

Who is this Tucholke author with the long title? What’s her book about? A Devil? Huh. Sounds kind of dumb. Her name is weird, too. How the hell do you pronounce that?

    • Yeah, who knows how the heck you pronounce that freakishly difficult name?? But I can say I loved the hell out of her DEVIL book 🙂 That’s some good stuff right there! Hey, if I ever get my hands on a floor display, my copy of DEVIL will be displayed right in the front.

  3. I think I need a book display in my house. In case people want to impulse buy something while they are visiting me.

Also, Elsie please translate this: distopii umpic
I read the English version of your interview but distopii umpic has me stumped. Is it a new YA genre? Should I be starting a distopii umpic WIP today?

  4. Dude. That display rocks. You need one in every room. And so many awesome books in that list! I can’t wait to read so many of them! 🙂

    • Thanks, Jenn! I *loved* most of those books, some I know I’ll be rereading. And that display is hilarious. It’s officially unofficial (yeah, I’ve been booted!), so I’ll find out closer to pub date what’s going to actually be made!

  5. You seriously need to get that display for yourself! Absolutely! Worth a trip to Australia if you have to, that’s what I think!! ;o)

YAY! We’re going to get Dualed! This is really really good news! Lovely displays as well! 🙂

Still flipping through your archive… 😀 Congrats on the Australia deal! I like the book display too!

I love Daughter and Smoke and Bone, too! (There’s too many “too’s” in this comment…) The sequel comes out this November so I’m excited!
